Prof. Sergio Vazquez from Universidad de Sevilla in Spain is appointed as a new co-Editor-in-Chief (co-EiC) for IEEE Transactions on Industrial Electronics (TIE). The appointment is advised by the Publication Committee and validated by the IES Administrative Committee.

Co-Editor-in-Chief of the Transactions on Industrial Electronics for a three-year term (2025-2027)  

Sergio Vazquez (Fellow, IEEE) was born in Seville, Spain, in 1974. He received the M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in industrial engineering from the University of Seville (US), Seville, Spain, in 2006, and 2010, respectively. Since 2002, he has been working on Research and Development projects with the Power Electronics Group, University of Seville, where he is currently a Full Professor with the Department of Electronics Engineering.
His research interests include power electronics systems, modeling, modulation, and control of power electronics converters applied to renewable energy technologies.
Dr. Vazquez was a corecipient of the 2012 Best Paper Award of IEEE Transactions on Industrial Electronics and the 2015, 2022, and 2023 Best Paper Awards of IEEE Industrial Electronics Magazine. He is involved in the Energy Storage Technical Committee of the IEEE Industrial Electronics Society. He is a co-Editor-in-Chief of IEEE Transactions on Industrial Electronics.
