IEEE Industrial Electronics Society (IES) Young Professionals (YP) is this year’s winner of the IEEE Young Professionals Hall of Fame Award in the IEEE Society category. The award is meant to recognize active and inspiring Young Professional Affinity Groups and Society Groups worldwide, based on their activities. Up to two Affinity Groups and two Society Groups receive the award every year.

Main factors taken into account during evaluation of submitted nominations include:

  • Vitality of the group measured in the amount and quality of organized activities. These activities shall have an important impact on the Young Professional community
  • Collaboration with other IEEE units in order to facilitate engagement of members of all grades
  • Collaboration with industry and academia
  • New inspiring ideas that help grow the local Young Professionals community

  • Industrial Electronics Society
  • Sensors Council

The IEEE IES Student & Young Professionals Group (http://www.ieee-ies.org/syp) is leaded by  Professor Marek Jasinski from the Warsaw University of Technology, Poland. This group was distinguished from 18 other IEEE YP groups.

It is the success of all IES members, IES officers and all AdCom members. We are approaching end of 2019, we would like to wish you Merry Christmas and Happy New year! From IEEE IES side coming year 2020 would be indeed interesting. We are planning more cooperation with industry, academia and local governments to give even more opportunities for young professionals to link humanity with industrial electronics.
