Dr.-Ing. Eugene Mittelmann Achievement Award

To recognize outstanding contributions to the field of Industrial Electronics.

Eligibility: Must be a member of IES.
Basis for Judging: May be given for a single major accomplishment or for a career of recognized achievements. The award is not necessarily given yearly: awarded only when suitable candidates can be identified.
Prize: $5,000 and Award Certificate.

IEEE Bimal Bose Award for Industrial Electronics Applications in Energy Systems

To recognize an individual who is a young researcher with outstanding contributions to the field of Industrial Electronics applied to Power Electronics and Energy Systems.

Eligibility: Must be a member of IES who, on the date of nomination, is within his/her 25 years of professional experience from the date of his/her last academic degree.
Basis for Judging: The award is given based on the technical importance of the contribution, originality, and future prospects with an emphasis on applications to power electronics and energy systems in the field of industrial electronics. The award is not necessarily given yearly: awarded only when suitable candidates can be identified.
Prize: $3,000 and Award Certificate and travel expense reimbursement for attending the award ceremony limited to $2,000.

IEEE Rudolf Chope Research & Development Award

To recognize distinguished research and development accomplishments in quantum and industrial electronics and for industrial electrical engineering.

Eligibility: Must be a member of IES.
Basis for Judging: The prize individual will be selected by the Award Committee for his distinguished R&D achievement in industrial and/or quantum electronics.
Prize: $1,000 and Award Certificate(s). Multiple authors will divide the prize.

Note: The Rudolf Chope award is now given annually. The award is open to all, but IES especially seeks to recognize people from groups who are traditionally underrepresented in the technical field of society.

IEEE J. David Irwin Early Career Award

To recognize a young researcher who has made significant contributions to the advancement of the field of industrial electronics.

Eligibility: Must be a member of IES who, on the date of nomination, is within his/her first 10 years of professional experience from the date of his/her last academic degree.
Basis for Judging: The award is selected based on the technical importance of the contribution, subject matter, originality, and prospects for future success.
Prize: $1,000 and Award Certificate and travel expense reimbursement for attending the award ceremony limited to $2,000.

Anthony J. Hornfeck Service Awards

To recognize outstanding, meritorious services to the IEEE Industrial Electronics Society.

Eligibility: Must be a member of IES.
Basis for Judging: For exceptional service to the Industrial Electronics Society.
Prize: $2,000 and Award Certificate.

IES Best Chapter Award

To recognize and appreciate IES chapter(s) which has/have demonstrated outstanding performance in organized technical activities relevant to IES areas of interest and contributions to IES membership development.

Eligibility: Only IES chapters, individual or joint, of which the chapter chairs are members of IES in the award period.
Prize: $1,000 and Award Certificate and travel expense reimbursement for attending the award ceremony limited to $2,000. In the case of multiple awardees, the prize is to be shared among them.
