The IEEE Industrial Electronics Society (IES) invites nominations for the position of co-Editor-in-Chief and Senior Editors for the following journals: IEEE Transactions on Industrial Informatics and IEEE Transactions on Mechatronics (see below open positions and requirements).

Nominations should be sent to IES Vice-President for Publications, Thilo Sauter, thilo.sauter@tuwien.ac.at, no later than September 26, 2022. Self-nomination is permitted.

Co-Editor-in-Chief of TII (Transactions on Industrial Informatics)

Three-year term starting January 1, 2023

Criteria for Nominees:

  • Demonstrated competence in at least one of the topical areas of TII;
  • Demonstrated very high scientific reputation (very good publication records);
  • Demonstrated editorial experience as EiC, co-EiC, Senior Editor, Associate Editor or Guest Editor;
  • Be a member of IES;
  • Be an IEEE Fellow;
  • Other required qualifications include high ethical standards, leadership experience, and management skills.

Requirements for Nomination:

  • A brief IEEE-style biography (up to 250 words) of the nominee;
  • A complete CV and list of publications of the nominee;
  • A brief statement from the nominator on nominee’s qualification and how the nominee meets the criteria listed above;

 

Senior Editor of TMECH (IEEE/ASME Transactions on Mechatronics)

Three positions, two-year term starting January 1, 2023

Criteria for Nominees:

  • The number of TMECH areas covered should be no less than three;
  • Previous experience as Editor of IES, RAS, ASME DSCC related journals
    (optimal would be previous experience as TMECH Technical Editor);
  • AIM conference editor would be a plus;
  • Previous publication experience in TMECH is mandatory;
  • Authorship of AIM conference papers is mandatory;
  • Position as Associate or Full Professor (or US equivalent).
  • Be a member of IES.
  • Other needed qualifications include: leadership experience, high ethical standards, management skills, and a vision to elevate the journal to a new level of excellence.

Requirements for Nomination:

  • A brief IEEE-style biography (up to 250 words) of the nominee.
  • A complete CV and list-of-publications of the nominee.
  • A brief statement from the nominator on nominee’s qualification and how the nominee meets the criteria listed above.
  • A statement (up to 500 words) from the nominee on his/her vision for the journal.
